Project Introduction

With the continuous population problems, China is always facing the problems of  growing numbers of high-rise residential apartments constructions. It brings some concerns about the future living environment and mode in highly urbanized city.

This project is a innovation experiment of future urban residence: if we have a another answer to solve the problem other than high-rise residence.

We cut off the height of the apartment and expanded the space horizontally to make it a terrace-like building complex which creates a lot of grey area for fulfilling the recreation function and for green space. This form is also better for lighting. And all the corners are rounded to provide the sense of sooth and livable.

For material application, we use brick veneer as facade material to correspond to the surrounding old western style architectures. The circulation are placed outside combining with landscape instead of the traditional traffic core inside. The functionality keep the traditional commercial and residential complex with the commercial is at the bottom and residential on top of it.
