Project Introduction
The Phoenix Bibliotheca, a stunning exemplar of architectural excellence, embodies the American Institute of Architects' (AIA) framework for design brilliance in its desert oasis setting. This library, harmoniously integrated with its arid surroundings, features an innovative sustainable design that harnesses the power of the sun to provide energy and maintain a comfortable interior climate. Its iconic copper-clad facade not only pays homage to the region's rich history but also efficiently deflects the harsh sun's rays. Inside, spacious, naturally lit reading areas offer respite from the scorching Arizona sun. The Phoenix Bibliotheca is a testament to the AIA's commitment to both aesthetic appeal and sustainable innovation.
The project was designed and articulated within a BIM system using Revit as design tool for delivery and cove.tool for energy analysis. We integrated various building systems, including passive design considerations for facade and orientation, architecture and structural systems, and MEP systems.
